A Very TDZ Christmas Tale

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, except for an optical mouse.
Danger benchmarked a 12-team NBA league with care,
In hopes that roto glory soon would be declared.

'The draft time approaches,' he excitedly said,
While visions of auction bargains danced in his head.

The clock struck 10, he awaited the first nominee
As he settled down for a 2-hour shopping spree.

When all of a sudden, Kevin Love was on the block:
And bids reached 80 dollars: this happened not in any mock!
He hoarded his fake money, and vowed patience above all,
But could he really pass up top players like Chris Paul?

Wait, what? $80?
The drafting resumed, his confidence jarred,
Snagging his first player: Kyle Lowry, point guard.
But once his first purchase took the Houston Rocket,
His fake money began to burn a hole in his pocket.

'Is 44 dollars for Al Jeff epic fail?'
He cried out to the reindeer above with a wail.
He knew his thoughts needed collecting
As the remaining players needed better inspecting.

Instead of allowing himself to avoid danger,
He rashly selected Pacer Danny Granger!
His field goal percentage gave his team a big blow,
But following with Andray Blatche brought a new personal low.

Pretty much the same expression I had when I drafted him.
Hoping for redemption, he sought meager solace,
In buying multi-cat mainstay, Blazer Gerald Wallace.
He did get one bargain: Jrue Holiday, 17 dollars,
Though it may not off-set the lack of other ballers.

And he must admit, the remaining proceedings were a blur,
But it offered an amusing story with which to say these words:
It's not always about the wins, but the quality of the laughter,
Merry (belated) Christmas to all, and a happy New Year after!
